"The Oklahoma Department of Corrections has its first ever Beauty School. A handful of female inmates at the Mabel Bassett prison are working towards their cosmetology licenses. That will allow them to have good paying jobs upon their release and hopefully keep them from going back to prison."
DID YOU KNOW THAT OKLAHOMA INCARCERATES MORE WOMEN PER CAPITA THAN ANY OTHER STATE ?

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization and are Oklahoma State Licensed Cosmetology Master Instructors who are teaching incarcerated women Cosmetology skills in Oklahoma's first Beauty College at a women's correctional facility.
In working together with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering, the women will be able to earn their Cosmetology license with a free education provided by our program. Upon completion of the required 1,500 hours, the ladies will have the opportunity to take their Oklahoma State Cosmetology exam, allowing them to receive their license prior to their release from prison.
We also assist with job placement, housing, clothing, life skills, recovery support and mentoring, in order to bridge the gap from the prison gate back into the community.
